The Royal Meteorological Society’s Special Interest Group on Meteorological Observing Systems is inviting abstracts for presentations and posters at the Meteorological Observing Systems Mini Conference 2026, taking place on Tuesday 8 September 2026 at UKCEH Wallingford.
This one-day, in-person meeting brings together researchers, practitioners and operational agencies to share the latest innovations, challenges and emerging applications in atmospheric and environmental monitoring.
As in previous years, presentations and posters can cover any aspect of meteorological measurement, including both AI-enabled and non-AI approaches. Contributions focusing on measuring the hydrological cycle are also particularly welcome.
The call for papers is open until Thursday 31 July 2026. If you would like to present, you can indicate this during the registration process and provide a provisional title for your presentation.
Attendance is open to anyone with an interest in meteorological observing systems. It is not expected that all participants will give a presentation, and attendees are welcome to join simply to listen, learn and take part in discussions throughout the day.
Registration is free. Refreshments will be provided, although attendees should bring their own lunch.
We encourage anyone working in meteorological and environmental observations to submit a presentation or poster proposal and join us for a day of knowledge sharing and networking.
